PLEASE!! This talented woman should be voted BEST OF for the entire state. Victoria was presented with our dress emergency one week before my daughter’s wedding. I feel like she did five months of work in THREE DAYS! Hand beading, correcting another seamstresses mess, working under a tight deadline and was so GRACIOUS. She put everything aside to help us. The dress in question was a 70 year old vintage wedding dress worn by my mother in law in 1951. We had it with a seamstress since APRIL and found that she really didn’t do much at all. Once my daughter picked up the dress, the threads were loose, the bustle would never hold and the zipper was crooked. Boning inside the bodice was exposed and too long. Victoria FIXED the entire thing. Working late into the night, keeping in touch with us as she made progress, we will be FOREVER GRATEFUL to this woman. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

So happy I found her!
I searched all over Lancaster, PA for a place that would alter my bridesmaid dress, but since I didn’t get the dress from those locations then were not able to see me! But, I’m happy they couldn’t because then I wouldn’t have met Victoria. She met with me 3 different times to make sure the dress fit perfect! she was also so flexible on when she was able to meet. Her attention to detail is incredible and she pointed out things and imperfections in the dress that I never would have saw… and she fixed them as if they were never there! She was also very reasonably priced! I can’t wait until its my turn to get married and she gets to help make alterations to my own dress!

I hired Victoria to alter my wedding dress and add a bustle. She was easy to work with and very flexible when it came to setting appointments. She designed a 5 point bow bustle that worked beautifully with my gown and was easy to assemble. Victoria cleaned and steamed my mother in law’s veil for me as well as steaming my dress before the ceremony. My dress turned out beautiful and I received so many compliments. Absolutely recommend Victoria for alterations to your wedding dress! I recently got married and had a short engagement which meant finding a dress and someone to alter my dress quickly! It was so difficult to get an appointment in calling different places. Victoria was able to see me almost immediately when I called. She was incredibly warm and welcoming and knew exactly what needed to be done with a VERY intricate dress. She took the time to ensure my fitting was exactly what I wanted so that it looked and felt right. On the day of my wedding, I felt absolutely beautiful because of how she altered my dress and felt so comfortable the entire night. Thank you Victoria!! Highly recommend to any future brides!!

If I could give Victoria 10 stars I would. It’s two days before the wedding I’m in. I pull out my bridesmaid dress and there is a HUGE water stain. I panicked and gave up hope because there’s no way I’d get this taken care of in time. Then I call Victoria and she saves the day! She gets me in the next morning and it’s done that same day. THANK YOU VICTORIA! Great price too!

I have been going to Victoria for over 7 years. She has altered many of my dresses and my girls. She does such a great job, always so friendly and affordable. The garments are completed in a timely manner. Victoria has plenty of experience & really loves what she does . So easy to get too her new shop you won’t regret it.

Wonderfully Talented Seamstress!
We were referred to Victoria Karr by the bridal shop where we purchased my daughter’s wedding gown. My daughter had a beaded and lace gown which needed to be hemmed and bustled. Victoria did a wonderful job with hemming the lace dress and meticulously worked on the bustle so that it would look just perfect. Victoria also hemmed two of the bridesmaid’s dresses and did a great job. We appreciated Victoria’s willingness to schedule appointments at our convenience, expertise in giving suggestions, attention to detail, and quality workmanship! We would highly recommend Victoria Karr for any alterations! We will definitely be going back!

Victoria is amazing!!
Victoria is an absolutely amazing designer — a true miracle worker! I had ordered my bridesmaid dress based upon the measurements of the saleswoman at the bridal boutique where my sister purchased her wedding gown. Needless to say, when my sister delivered the dress to me, it was quite apparent that the saleswoman’s measurements were beyond incorrect: the dress was about five sizes too small. Rather than dealing with the boutique’ s stringent “all sales final” policy, I took my dress to Victoria when my sister had her first gown fitting. That was the best decision I ever made! Victoria added a corset and other beautiful design features, making my dress absolutely gorgeous! Talk about making lemonade from lemons! I now own a unique and exquisite gown. My mother, sister, and I have already decided that she will be making my wedding dress. If you are looking for excellent service, amazing design and/or tailoring techniques, and someone who is more than reasonably-priced, Victoria is the gal for you!!

Great Choice
I was given Victoria’s name by one of my co-workers that raves about her. Best decision I made for my wedding dress! She took it in 6 sizes, added the bustle, a panel, and did many other minor adjustments that made the dress a major beauty! The service Victoria provided was stellar. She did an amazing job with my daughter’s dress alterations and even made a couple of adjustments because she wanted to hide the clasps on the straps and did the work on the spot so we didn’t need to come back. Victoria was recommended to me by my bridal shop. She did all the alterations needed for my wedding gown (adding bustles and additional lace and taking in the top) AND made my veil. Victoria took my grandmother’s old lace gown & gave it some modern alterations for my winter wedding. She also made me a new silk full slip & beautiful lace veil. I took my dress in for a alteration, then with her suggestions my dress turned into what I always wanted. She added beautiful cap sleeves and made me a custom veil which helped to bring the whole look together. She is so nice and really listens to what you want your dress to look like. Victoria did an amazing job on my wedding dress! I live in Philadelphia but wanted to get my dress altered at home in Lancaster where our wedding is. Victoria’s prices were extremely fair, and she was incredibly accommodating when selecting times to meet, considering I could only make it home on the weekends. She listened to my every need and was so wonderful making suggestions: telling me how to store my dress, how to accessorize it, the best changes to make to the dress, and even what to do with the extra fabric she removed. She also took care of my mother’s MOB dress. Victoria was very professional, and I could tell by her recommendations that she has years of experience. I would recommend her to any bride in the Lancaster area!

Victoria saved my wedding dress! I had a horrible experience with another seamstress which left me leaving in tears with pins all over my dress. I called Victoria and she turned a nightmare into a dream come true! I ordered the dress knowing that I wanted to customize the neckline. Victoria picked up the pieces from the first woman’s mistake and helped to turn my dress into my exact vision. She pays attention to every little detail and had weekly fittings with me to make sure everything was turning out to my liking. Without her, I would have been forced to scrap the dress and start over. I am so happy that I listened to a friend’s advice and called Victoria. Her prices are super reasonable too! Victoria is absolutely AMAZING. I have never worked with a seamstress as hard working, efficient, and detail-oriented as Victoria. She made so many alterations to my wedding dress that I visited her 6 times between January and May leading up to my wedding. She let the dress out in some parts, took it in in others, hemmed it, added the bustle, and reinforced some beading. She was a true miracle worker! My dress fit perfectly on my wedding day. Also, I took my rehearsal dinner dress to her because it was too long. She had the amazing idea to cut the entire bottom of the dress off and create a slit up the leg so my store bought dress became a one-of-a-kind dress. She also altered my mom’s dress for the wedding. She took it from a size 10 down to a size 6. She worked on the beading and made sure everything was perfect from top to bottom. I will absolutely go back to Victoria any time I need a seamstress in the future!

Victoria has been amazing to work with for my wedding. She is providing dress alteration services for me, my bridesmaids, mother of the bride, as well as grandmother of the bride. She has been able to make us all feel remarkable in our dresses and add the finishing touches we need. My dress is very detailed, has a lot of lace and detail with very little stretch. I have a very curvy figure, that often does not fit in one size. She has been able to alter the dress in ways we were thinking were not possible. On top of her phenomenal skills, Victoria has been almost overly accommodating by meeting us in different locations, as well as worked with limited time slots. She also is priced very fairly, in relationship to what we were charged for other formal wear alterations, prior to Victoria. Overall, she has done an amazing job, and is HIGHLY recommended!

My mother and I have both gone to Victoria for alterations for mother of the groom dress, 2 bridesmaids dresses, and even a sari blouse. Turn around time is fast and she really knows what she is doing! Easy to fit into the work week and she makes sure you are happy with the work! Alterations are inexpensive for the great value and service you are getting! She is my go-to person for alterations. (Also caught a sneak-peak of the dresses she has made and they are gorgeous…GORGEOUS!!!! Some have such intricate details that would be stunning on any bride!)

I originally had my gown altered at a different seamstress in York, and had a very rough experience. I had it hemmed, bustled, lined in the bodice, a hook added to take the dress in around my waist, and had some lace added to the low neckline so it wasn’t as revealing. The hem ended up being bluntly cut through the lace appliques, my dress was very heavy when bustled, the lining of the bodice was noticeably uneven, there was still gapping at the back of my gown where the hook was added, and the lace added to the front was bulky and fuzzy from being removed and put back on multiple times (plus it wasn’t how I originally explained and envisioned). The previous seamstress did a very poor job with everything, and tried to make it seem like steaming it would fix most of the problems!
I live out of state, and flew in a week before my wedding to get everything ready. Victoria was able to see me the Monday before my wedding, and quickly fixed my gown’s issues (and more!!) by Thursday. She fixed the lining that was uneven, redid the lace in the neckline, fixed the hem and made the lace look more finished, changed the bustle so it was distributed more across my back making it less weighted, and she added in boning and elastic so the gown fit me better. She also made little changes to the bust that had a HUGE impact on the fit! Victoria did an absolutely outstanding job on my gown and saved my wedding day. I can’t thank her enough for the work she put into fixing my dress, and I will recommend her to anyone who needs dress alterations.

Victoria is soo great! She did the alterations on my wedding gown including fixing the sleeves and adding a bustle. She’s so easy to work with and I was able to text her with any questions- which i definitely appreciated! I haven’t gotten alterations done before, so I’m not sure how the price relates to other places, but I did feel it was affordable. She even pressed my gown and got it ready to travel to my Iceland elopement. Highly recommend her!

I needed to have my mother of the groom dress shortened and altered. I found Victoria on Yelp and she had lots of good reviews. Her shop is currently under construction so you will need to make an appointment to see her. The shoulders in the dress needed to be taken up by an inch and 1/2 as the bust hung too low. She did a wonderful job. You cannot tell the dress was altered. She shortened the dual hemline perfectly. She made sure to have it fully pressed and ready 1 week before the wedding.
